The Death of Loved Cow

Have you ever lost a loved animal? I have, and I blamed myself for it.

You may have lost a dog or cat.

I want to tell you a story about a cow I recently lost. The day before her death, I moved Maybelle, a pregnant cow, into a new pasture with six other cows. I thought I was doing the right thing.

The next day, I found her lying on her back, dead.

Because Maybelle was bullying a blind calf, that she tossed into the air, I moved Maybelle into a new herd of other cows. In the new pasture, the other cows bullied Maybelle, pushing her on her back so she couldn't get up.

I blamed myself for Maybelle's death.

I felt miserable.

  • So much shame.
  • So much blame.
  • So much anguish.

I needed help…. So I got coached. With coaching, I remembered that cows are gonna die.

Sometimes I can save them, sometimes I can't.

Coaching taught me that throwing myself under the bus doesn't help. I learned that even when I do my best, bovines die.

Just like a beloved dog might die, death is out of your control. The only thing you can control is your thinking. If you've lost a dog, you know what I mean.

You did your best to save your dog, but sometimes nothing works.

Coaching helps…. Here’s how coaching with me will help you.  You’ll learn how to move through the pain and understand the lesson.  You’ll feel better even when it seems impossible. You’ll find peace through the anguish.

Let me show you.
